Panettone Day 2019: the 25 finalists have been chosen

On Thursday 20 June, at the headquarters of CAST Alimenti in Brescia, the selection of the 25 Panettone Day pastry chefs was concluded. The competition was created by Braims in partnership with Novacart Group and in collaboration with Callebaut, Vitalfood and CAST Alimenti, in order to promote an icon of Italian pastry and the value of craftsmanship.
The contest thus reaches its seventh edition, attracting professionals from all over Italy. The jury of experts led by Igino Massari selected the 25 finalists, including 15 traditional panettone, 5 creative panettone and 5 Ruby chocolate panettone, a novelty of this edition introduced in collaboration with Callebaut.
The list of the selected finalists will be known starting from June 27th on the social networks and on the Panettone Day website.
"Panettone Day is the most important pastry contest, not only in Italy, but throughout Europe," said Maestro Massari. - This is the only initiative able to involve so many pastry chefs and give visibility to all 25 finalists. This is important to enhance the small artisan realities in the area and encourage them to challenge each other every day to get a better product. "
The winners will be announced for each category on September 12th in the Mengoni room of Cracco Restaurant in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan. The winners will be decreed by a jury composed of Iginio Massari, pastry chefs Sal De Riso and Davide Comaschi, radio and gourmande speaker Marisa Passera and Raffaele Romano, winner of the 2018 edition. The 25 creations will be on sale throughout the month of October at the Panettone Day Temporary Store in Corso Garibaldi 42 in Milan.
